It was a no go for Freshlyground - didn't get my ticket and didn't opt for the risky go it alone option either.
Saturday included a trip down to the beach for some reading, swimming in the filthy ocean and a walk along the sand. I'm not sure why the water was so filthy yesterday but there were all kinds of feathers and straight up garbage floating around. I collected some and chucked it in a garbage can, you know chip bags, pop or rather cooldrink bottles and such but then I just had to get out of the water before I got sick or something. Guess I'll have to head to a different beach next time.
Anyway, did that before it was too hot to spend much time outside. Then I decided to go to the Victoria & Albert Waterfront with the aim of tracking down some flip flops. I'll post a picture of them to show you why they are special.
Today is the day of the Cape Argus Cycle Tour, a 110km bike ride all through the Cape area. We headed down to Camps Bay for breakfast and to watch the riders fly by. It was pretty cool to catch the action - over 30 000 riders participate and we caught some of the top guys flying through. The event starts at 6:00 am and because of the number of participants doesn't finish until 6:00 pm. This results in a number of road closures so I'm sticking around here for the rest of the day I think.
So that's that for now. Pictures to come.
Alison
Oh, for it to be too hot...
