The Thing About Work Trips

Okay, I haven't gone anywhere yet so I can't quite report on work trips. However, so far, they are a lot of work. Travelling for work is not something I'm about to complain about but...just kidding. I'm not complaining, I won't do it. I will tell you this. Things are hectic! They take a lot of planning. There are a number of work related items to take care of before leaving, there is a lot of prep to do before you go and then there is a lot of work to do while you're there. It's going to be a busy time, I can tell already. Wait, it's busy already. Today was spent trying to compile as much of a report as possible that is due while we're away. Tomorrow morning I'm busting my butt to the passport office to pick up my new passport. I have budgets to create, forms to submit and approval to seek all while being very excited about heading to the horn.

There are many reasons to be excited despite the business going on now and the work that lays ahead. It will be my first time in the Horn of Africa. It is the first time the mastercard lady told me to "stay safe" when I called to inform them of my travels. It is the first time someone else has paid for my malaria meds. Whoot! It'll be the first time I meet my colleagues and attend meetings with scheduled macchiato breaks. Did I write about that in my last post? Probably because I'm super pumped about it. See below...YES! Gotta run.

  2. Did you possibly take a macchiato break before commencing this blog? Don't worry: I'm excited for you too!
